Default SOmeone explain me this

I have a question... how come our cars RPM are higher then other cars? Like... around 60mph our RPM would be around 4RPM while other cars would be around 2RPM? Someone explain plz

its all about the gearing of the car. all 6 gears in the S are just very high in order to keep the power within thr powerband while shifting. however i do agree that 6th could be a little lower. in my 04 cruising at 90 i am at about 5k rpms.....

:iagee: Yep, the gearing. Specifically, the rear end. We have a 4.1 final drive ratio, wheras lots of other cars are (I think) in the 2.8 to 3.5 range.
