Someone Scraped My Bumper
Why is everyone just choosing to run home to mommy? Go to the other person insurance and say you want some money. If you cant get anything out of them, then go to yours. I dont know why you wouldnt bother trying.

I was simply stating what the officer told me....but going in hot-headed and raising hell probably would cause me to say something stupid the other party can use against me.
IDK,
I had someone hit me in Wal-Mart but didn't stop. I tried to get Wal-Mart to let me look at the survallence tape. Wouldn't let me. I feel for you, at least you did get his insurance. I would probably agree with Gigdy and call his insurance first. See what they tell you. They shouldn't care b/c when it is all said and done, they will just raise the other guys rates. If your insurance doesn't know about it the better off you are.

The cop is correct (at least where I live that's the case).
If both insurance companies deny your claim, then you take the other driver to small claims court for the repair and court costs. You have his info, you have a police report, get an insurance denial letter (if they deny) from both companies and you should have no trouble in court.

I would just talk to your insurance company and not bother with his. Your insurance company will contact his and deal with them. Most likely his insurance company will then call you. My girlfriend just recently got rear ended in our escape. We call our insurance company they called his. A few hours later his insurance company called us and had us go to a body shop two days later.

There are thousands and thousands of these just where I live. In fact, I live on one. There are at least 60 homes down the road I live on but it's considered private because we all pay to maintain it ourselves. If there is an accident on it, the cops don't care, it's not their road.
Also doesn't mean that every person I invite over to my house is trespassing...
Sorry I've been in class all day. The other party's insurance (progressive) is covering my damages. They were surprisingly willing to pay for my damages and they gave me three options.
1) Give me an in-house estimate and cut me a check.
2) Go with me to a body-shop of my choice and figure out how much it costs and pay the shop directly and give me a rental car.
3) drop it off at a progressive office and they will take car of everything....ie bringing it to the shop and providing me a rental. They also said this came with a Progressive life-time warranty on the part that they repair (I thought all reputable body shops had a life time warranty on their paint?).
I'm leaning towards 1 or 2.....I'm going to take the bumper off to see if how much the clips shifted and if I can get it back to where it was.
