She thinks her luck is as bad as me now.

She's almost got me beat.

Success! Greg, me, and my car have finally made it to Texas, and in ONE PIECE! The Gods of the Wildlife allowed us safe passage, though on I-57 in Illinois, there were huge bloodstains on the road at least every half mile , indicating that other cars had met the same fate as mine, and recently.

Thanks to everyone for their well-wishes, and to Tmkarab for throwing the water !

I'm off to find a well-deserved beer...

Thanks tmkarab!

I actually drove the whole way down...which I'm not sure why...perhaps because my dad would always drive on family vacations and I "inherited" that bizarre trait of his. But we made it. I was definitely "edgey" last night driving through southern Illinois...very vigilant for errant deer-critters. Today's part of the journey was much less stressful...since if you see a deer-critter in the day, you have a much better chance of avoiding it! But we saw countless, what I called "deer splotches" all over the place - big ugly things that I'm sure caused lots of damage.

But her car is safe and sound here...and I think it was all due to you throwing the water our way. Nice tradition...that's for coming to my place and sharing that with us as we left...!

Yes the water throwing...a crazy Turkish tradition, but nice to know that it still works

Glad the three of you made it without a scratch...

PS: just watched the Super Speedway DVD - pretty cool, I'll pass it on to Larry as soon as i get over there, thanks...

Happy Holidays

After putting up with Greg for that long of a drive, guess you needed one!

Just kidding of course!

Congrats in getting the car back in one piece. Sounds like it might need a good wash and wax after it's journey through the deer blood.
