Soot on tail pipes and rear bumper

I knew someone who tuned their S2000 with the VAFC and leaned it out some and said that the amount of soot that was deposited on his white S2000 was much less after doing that. That helps validate the theory that it is soot caused by a rich fuel mixture.

SOLUTION: Buy a Califonia Duster. You need it with this car and one wipe and it looks clean again:

if it's sticking even after you washed the car, try simple green.
simple green takes all the soot of my bumper and off the tailpipe
