Find out about it's inaccuracy. Find out if it's an X-Band (the worst, with a wide shooting area and very inaccurate). See if there are any sites around about how to get out of the ticket ---- avoid going to court for as long as you can, get continuances.

Definitely definitely get a radar detector! It's too easy to find yourself exceeding the legal limit in an S2K.

But don't fall into the trap of believing that a radar detector will save your butt every time, it won't. If the cop is carefully hidden, and turns on his radar (triggers it) when he sees you, no radar detector in the world will save you, the detector will pick him up at the same moment he locks in your speed, and you'll still be screwed. I've been there and done that.

I hope you all realize my opinions of the V-1 and know why I run an SR-1. You know the Passport they keep behind the counter as it is very expensive? Cincinatti Microwave (who owns Passport) developed this unit for a reason. I have been a speeder for years and swear by their products. As for a comparison of the two we'd have to ask Yellow S2000 about a now infamous trip out of Utah into Wyoming.........I still have my SR-1 ......

That really suks, marc! It stinks to know that even a beautiful Sebring/Red isn;t enough to get a cop to look the other way!

By the way, that flash you saw is how I understand that the cops make sure they can identify your car. They clock one, then flash it with a light as it goes by to get a good look at the make/model and color, so there's no chance of mistaking your car fon another if it takes them a bit to catch up. (Bastards.... )

I saw something similar when I was up there (I'm from So. Cal). I was driving up to S.F. from Santa Cruz and on that stretch of highway between Santa Cruz and San Jose I saw the biggest speed trap ever. There were four CHP bikes parked under an overpass just waiting with radar guns blazing and it that wasn't enough further up the highway about a half mile there were two CHP cars to get cars that might have gotten through and thought they were homefree to speed again. THAT SUCKS!
