Hi

i was just wondering if you guys ever miss the sound of the B series DOHC VTEC. I love the S2K but the VTEC just doesnt sound the same and isnt as distinct. I remember in a 99-00 SI the sound difference after 5500 was night and day and very distinct. I just miss hearing that sound.

Are you serious? In my GF's 99 Si I cant even feel or hear the VTEC engage. The S is by far the most distinctive VTEC from the whole Honda Acura family. Ive driven all the cars event he NSX. 6 cylinder VTEC engagement is much smoother especially with most of the Acuras with SOHC. Our engines longer rpms range and higher hp than most 4 cylinders allows us to experience it stronger.

What year do you have and how many miles? You might need some tuning.

No I mean Acuras. I have not driven the 05 Accords, but I have driven CL's TL's and RL's. Very smooth engagement.

I had a prelude before the S and I still think this engages harder. I guess in a lighter Civic its more noticable.

Yeah, I loved the sound of VTEC in my '99 Civic Si with an intake. But I could never feel anything, it just made a distinct noise at 5500rpm. Whereas in my s2000 I can definetly feel a boost of power and hear the crossover. I'm sure intake would make it even more apparent soundwise. I'll keep my s2000 though, thank you.
