Default soundproofing

So what is the latest news on soundproofing, that is the best method. I've been reading threads for the past several hours and my eyes are red. But I don't see any recent posts this year.

Or at least where are the latest threads talking about this.

thanks,
Scott

There is no latest news...just what/where to put it. Here is a link to a great comparison article on sound deadener products.

Here is my soundproofing thread geared toward drone control but does a great job locating road noise issues too.

Have fun...it's very labor intensive but worth the trouble

Thanks for the links. I will take a look. I really need to soundproof my car.
I've read alot in this forum and it's been interesting, but I'm curious whatever happened to Chipperman. Is he selling his soundproofing kit and have many bought his kit? I was also wondering if there were any new products out people have found also.

That's an awesome comparison site. Good find.

If I had a stereo or exhaust, I'd definitely soundproof. But I don't have eihter. It's the wind noise that kills me..If I can figure out a way to get rid of the cabin turbulence, I'd be in heaven. Majorhavoc blockers and Rick's 7/8 windscreen help a little, but nowhere near what I want. Maybe it's time to lower my seat a few inches.

I obtained a mesh windscreen from the 1st gen SLK. It coincidentally uses the same snaps as our useless convertible cover, so I just moved two of them to the proper spot. Search for my how-to from a few years ago.

I soundproofed my trunk with deadener (subwoofer back there) and doors/cabin with deadener and 1/4" foam. The audio is better, but overall noise only slightly improved. Engine, wind, and tire noise dominate in that order while stock exhaust is relatively quiet.
