Default SouthSport Tailer Mods

I've had several PM's about my trailer and thought I'd post some pic's of the mods I've done to make it more user friendly. Pic's and comments below.

Plastic conduit tie wrapped to the fram to raise the tires a bit for security bar clearance.

Additional padding to protect the wheels from scuffs and scratches

Reflective tape and reflectors to make it more visible when traveling at night

Padding on the security bar to protect the wheels. I'm thinking about covering it with rino-liner for a more permanent solution. Also to protect it from any further rust.

Stand by Fulton

3' Bungies a 6' Security strap and lock.

Here's a link to all the pics

Nice Mack!

Is this what you use to transport your S2000 to the tracks? You'll be driving your S2000 - the trailer to Knoxville, right?

Umm... don't you have to have light on a trailer at night?

Trailer has taillights.

Nice work, Mack. Where'd you get the Fulton stand? And apparently you feel that simply locking the wheel bar isn't enough?

I just ordered a wheel lock from Shipstore for $35. I also put a lock through the ball mount. The trailer is so light, I have visions of someone just picking it up by hand and dragging it off somewhere when I leave it at the hotel to go out on the town.

Actually it's just a tag along (a very expensive tag along ) that holds 4 tires and a very nice storage box for tools, jack etc. Everything needed for a weekend of autocrossing.

The trailer has plenty of lights on it but that doesn't mean joe average driver will see it. Reflective tape is a good idea.

Mack- Eastwood Chassis Black spray paint is very durable if you need to touch anything up. I also recommend their coroless primer with a rust nutralizing agent.

Airgate-

Here's the trailer in action.

SoloVR6

I'll have to check into some of that paint thanks! It's just about impossible to keep some areas from wearing and rusting. Guess I'll have to stay on top of it.

Mack,

I always get a kick out of seeing pics of your car with that trailer on it. I remember the first time I saw it, I couldn't believe it was possible. Keep up the good work.

Hmm.. I've read in the manual that ANY kind of towing shouldn't be done. Is this safe for our cars?

Mack- Great job!!!

What I'm interested in is the trailer hitch that is connected to the car.

custom made or can be purchased?

how connects to frame?

any keywords to search for if already covered?
