I've been told by two Honda dealerships (Richmond, Surrey) that there were only 7 Spa Yellow S2000s allocated in BC, Canada and only 40 in all of Canada. Is that true or are they BSing me in hopes that I pay above MSRP for one?

 

a couple of dealers told me the same thing. I thing is all BS. You can walk in to a dealer and ask for any color and they will tell you that it is rare or its hard to get because is so popular. Its all sales pitch. I think some dealers don't order many yellow because it is a love them or hate them color. I would try another dealer.

 

yea, a sales drone told me that this was the last year for the s2000 and Honda cut the alotment in half. Of course I had to set him straight and his only reply was "Well, that may be the case, but thats not what I heard.."

 

Actually the sales guy is right for a change.

40 allocated to Canada for MY2001. According to Honda Canada they had such limited demand for yellow last year that they won't be getting any yellow for MY2002.

The spa yellow in Canada also comes with a hardtop and car cover.

Not to many of us on the road that is for certain.

here in houston, silver is by far the most common, followed by red, then black, yellow, white. i have yet to see a white or yellow one on dealers' lots. i wouldn't be suprised if only 40 yellows were destined for canada.

Call Honda Canada and ask them yourself, thats what I did.

If you look at the Canadian brochure you'll see the SPA is left off the colour chart again this year. Which made me call Honda just to check. Last year they didn't introduce the Yellow until April, which just became a pullout spec sheet for the brochure.

When I called they said the dealers had a very hard time selling the yellow, took much longer than any other colour to move off the lot etc. I'm figuring it could be the price over the colour but thats just my thought.

I haven't regreted it and I got a great deal on it as well.
