First, that's one hell of a price, IMO! 13K is like new, and the price is awesome.
Second, if you want attention, both good and bad, yellow is the way. If you want inconspicuousness, black or other dark colors are the way to go.

I had a yellow ITR, and it was the bomb. I was well-known because of the car and its color stood out. It looked absolutely beautiful and will get you plenty of looks (good and bad).
I would have purchased another yellow car, but I really wanted silver this time around. But if I had found an S2K that was yellow with low mileage, in great shape and the price was hard to beat, I would have bought it without thinking twice about the color.
Get what you like. Who cares what your step dad thinks.
He'll be jealous when you get all the girls checking you out because your car "bling, blings." Red and black are okay colors (I'm not fond of them), but yellow stands out much more so (again, good and bad).
Giddy-up!

Thanks for the response guys. And yes I am the one paying so it really is up to ME. I had a nights sleep over the idea and woke up ready to go get it this weekend. Hopefully everything goes good at the bank today. Thanks again.

The yellow is pretty sweet, it gleams in the sun and when you drive around town with the top down the lady's will SMILE at you
It's just such a happy colour.
I agree about cavaliers and neons they look like CRAP in yellow!

I am now the proud new owner of a spa yellow s2k. I love the color in person as well as my family, including my step dad.
I ended up paying $20,300 for a 2002 with 14k miles in perfect condition. The only problem is the headlight has moisture in it. Hopefully warranty will cover that though. Other than the headlight, not a dent or scratch on the entire car.
This guy is also selling a 2003 porsche 911 turbo for $85,000 if anyone is intrested. Very good people to work with.

Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, Porsche, Lotus, TVR all come in yellow. There is a reason. I have red, I love it, yellow was my very close second choice. There is nothing wrong with yellow, especially on a sports car. Also, if you are good with cars, you will know the "cheap" shades or red, yellow, orange, green, etc and great looking ones.
