has anyone tried to remove the silver section of the ap2 key without destroying it? It looked like most of the keys in the other thread were trashed when people took them apart to get the transponder out. If the center silver section can be removed it might be possible to get a metal piece machined to replace the silver triangle part of the key.

my MY06 key is looking a bit ugly, the silver paint on the front side is wearing off, but that is because i hang other keys with my driving key. in the future i might just by another silver S2K key and keep it only when i drive on special days...
Doesn't help in my experience. There's nothing on my S keychain except the fob and never has been. I have no silver left on my key.

Yes, but from what the techies on this board have said in other related threads, the innards aren't compatible.

Dealer or online. You'd need the dealer to program the new key either way.

yeah i know that,
the problem is that the dealer didnt import the s2000 in my country,
so they have the essential spare parts only.
