speeding ticket help!!!!!
cop pulled a uie(sp?) on me and clocked me at 81 in a 55
anyway i can lower this to a lower charge?
and i have a mandatory court appearance
#@$!#$!@#$@!
I saw him turn slow down and pulled a u turn and then puts his lights on and i kept going thinking nothing of it sicnce i didnt think he could clock me while he was traveling the other way then got pulled over
He asked for license and registration i handed him my license and wen to get rhe registration and he said it wasnt necessary(why's this?) then took a few mins and handed me a ticket for 81 in a 55
any thoughts on why he didnt need my registration and or any loopholes
i just checked and on the bottom theres a spot for signature of defendant and he put an x there and i didnt have to sign it could this be a loophole?

I don't think there is shit you can do other then getting a lawyer. You can contest it and hope he doesn't show up, but if he's a city cop...HE WILL BE THERE. Best idea would be to bit your lip, pay the ticket and then get a radar detector.

He didnt need the registration because he likely ran your plates and dispatch told him your name was on the registration(and the registration was valid).
Not sure about the having to sign it, but I doubt if that will get you out of it -- although you may well get it reduced.

Do you know how fast you are going? In Texas, you can take defensive driving if you are going up to 25 mph over the speed limit
The cop got you going 26 over. Either its a not so funny coincidence or the cop is trying to send you a message.

You need to plead "No Contest" to the charges. Request that the judge allow you to take a DD cource. If you do get the cource your insurance company might let the ticket slide because of they love for people to take them.. I know mine did (73 in a 55)... But Im in Va so mabey its different in NC......... Good Luck

You will need to get a lawer. Don't "bite the bullit" and pay the ticket. That is just stupid advice. The fine is no big deal, but your insurance will rape you for the next three years. Pay a lawer to plead it down for you. It will be expensive in the short-term, but the long-term savings will prove worth it.

Sorry to hear about the ticket.
I've gotten 2 in the past... my advice is... pay the ticket, get a Valentine 1, and start observing the speed limit.
You don't want to get a lawyer, lose the case, and end up paying for both the ticket and for the lawyer. Try not to spend more money and time...
G'luck.

I've been to traffic court in MD more times than I care to mention.
1. GO TO COURT! Even if you don't have a lawyer, the judge will often reduce t
he fine or points if you don't have any tickets. Further, the cop may not show up,
in which case you walk free.
If you get a hanging Judge, you can at anytime leave the
courtroom and pay your fine without going before the Judge.
2. Delay the trail date: Once you get the summands, write a letter asking for
another trail date, Make up an excuse like you planed a vacation that date
or something like that. I
