Speedvision / Speed Channel Petition
Actually they usually show F1 races at odd times because they are live. Australia will be around midnight. Why?
It's half way around the world. It's got nothing to do with popularity of the sport.
I agree that more ad revenue is currently generated by Nascar (here in the US) but it's doubtful that we will have a lapse in F1 coverage anytime in the near future simply because of revenue.
F1 fans spent more on their sport last year that any other sport.

Alan,
Glad to see all your F1 pictures and interest! Instead of saving for retirement, I'm saving for Monaco!
$1500 for terrace seats? I'll work well into retirement as long as I make it there one day. This year I'll be in Montreal!
But after Fox bought Speedvision, I fear they are turning more and more in the Nascar direction. I want to make sure we get ALL coverage like we used to (with Speedvision) ... it seems to have become more of the "Nascar Network" in the last week (I think that's when the official change went into effect).

I went to Indy the first year it "returned" in 2000 ... the most MISERABLE rainy race day I've experienced and Mika Hakkinen's engine blew (oh, I'm a HUGE Mika/McLaren fan!) ... so imagine my surprise when I tuned in last year and it was sunny and beautiful!?!?!? It'll probably snow in Montreal in June this year!
Our goal is to go to one a year. We missed it last year ... but in 2003 we're hoping to go to Hockenheim! (and tour the Mercedes and Porche factory on the same trip). It's nice to have dreams!
p.s. I'd like to see Kimi do well this year in Mika's absence ... but I think Montoya's gonna run away with the races. I'd also LOVE to see McNish succeed in the Toyota's first year ... but I've heard the car is not competitive ... that's too bad.

I added my two cents! Thanks for the link!!!
I remember when RPM Tonight was a good TV show, coverage of all things automotive, now it should just be called NASCAR tonight. Stop already with this NASCAR mania! Must be not only the drivers, but now the fans have gotten dizzy from watching the cars go in circles!

Watching NASCAR is like watching a really long ass commercial, can't see the car with all those ads. It's everything bad about Americana, commercialism, lowbrow technology, Confederate flags... haha, very controversial, but hey, NASCAR sucks, we can agree on that.
Signed!
The name change should have been to NASCAR Tv in stead of the Speed Channel.
Seems like they show 3 or 4 hours of NASCAR a day, between the tech shows and replaying old races, etc.
No thanx.
