Spoon cai water ingestion
Here's the facts ... Spoon specifically states this to be used in fine weather while if bad weather does occur, driving slow or in normal wet type conditions without revs into VTEC will not hurt the engine or cause any type of hydrolocks as what the concern seems to be here.
As addressed, there are holes in the airbox to let the water pass through. The theory of an airduct is simple, if the engine does not require more air ... Then it will have a less suction force, and of course when you provide high revs, a greater suction force becomes like a vaccum. So tell me, who VTECs and redlines in the rain ... To be what? Michael Schumacher in the making?
Bottom line, no big concerns here. While it's definitely not an expensive upgrade to your intake system ... The safety concerns have been addressed appropriately by the company selling it. Even Mugen has almost the same theory as well. So if you stick by the book ... There shouldn't be any stupid problems like hydrolocking.

Takashi thanks for that , I'd hoped that you would reply as I know you have one! could you have some sort of temorary cover as 1randyc suggested to clip/fasten on, in the event of bad weather as an extra precaution?
Bad idea to put a cover all ... That would restrict air from flowing into the engine. Periodically that is required when the engine is running. The best is not to drive in bad weather but if you don't have a choice, don't drive fast if you have one of the Spoon CF airducts installed. Mine is on the way from Japan ... Not as yet, but I have done alot of research on my part for that.
Takashi, in your research in to this subject has any one constructed a CAI which is ducted backwards? you still would get the cold air effect with the added bonus of no water/debris entering the system, OK no ram air effect but the initial object is to get cold air not hot.
I'm aware no one has done that as yet ... Not even the big boys like Mugen or Spoon for sure. There must be a reason why, but I'm not up there to tell you why. Maybe it's the aerodynamics of the car in movement of how the wind or air patterns are calculated ... Etc. It's all about physics then.
