Default spoon radiator hose set

hi all,

anyone got anything good or bad to say about this set?

i was thinking of buyng it to add a bit of bling to the engine bay - not for any great practical reason.

ditto with the cf plug cover.

cheers,
billy

I think they are pretty much the same as Samco, but a little more expensive. Both are stronger than stock. $300 for Spoon radiator hoses is a little much, but I'll probably have some before its all said and done.

The radiator hose set reduces water temperature, it isn't just a bling item. This should be matched with any 1.3 radiator cap, Mugen/Spoon thermostat and Mugen/Spoon fan switch at least to see sufficient differences.

I can use the 1.3 cap by itself right no need to buy other cooling stuff?

I did not know that by adding silicon radiator hoses you could reduce water temperature.

It was my understanding that silicon does not break down like rubber does when exposed to the antifreeze / water mixture. Just get the Samco hoses, Samco provides the hoses for Spoon.

SilverKnight - Yes, you can use the 1.3 radiator cap without any other upgrades.

Uncle Fester - My water temperatures show consistent drops after the basic cooling upgrades were done, there is an average drop of 10 degrees at peak compared to before. This is significant and a worthy upgrade.

Ahhhhh......ok so I believe that the coolant drop you're seeing is from the new thermostat and fan switch. I don't believe the hoses will have any impact on coolant temperature... However if I am incorrect please explain to me how the hoses can contribute to coolant temp reduction.
