Default Spoon wheel offset

i remember a while back when people started buying the spoon wheels that they only offered a +35mm offset for the front. is this correct?

also, if that is the case. can anyone who got the wheels in this offset comment on the fit? are the spoon's sold present day now a +45mm offset?

the reason i ask is because i just got a set of te-37s after waiting almost 4 months. the rep assured me that both the front and back would be 45mm offset. well, they came today and the fronts are +42mm. the rears are +46mm. i am a little concerned about the front, but should have no problems with them if the spoons were offered in a +35mm and they worked out.

thanks
brian

brianb,

O.k., I assume you have 16x7 +42mm and 16x8 +45mm.

If you were initially aiming for +45mm in front, 3mm isn't going to determine if you are going to rub or not.

If you are going to run stock tire sizes, and are not lowered...you should have no problems (assuming if you and your passenger do not weigh over 200 pounds). If you plan to lower in the future...you might be able to lower a bit...better go with coil overs.

With Volks, 17's are the way to go as you can run 17x7.5 48mm and 17x8.5 50mm. FWIW, the 16's that we sell come as follows:
Spoons 16x7 35mm F (45mm are available, too) 16x8 45mm R
Regas 16x7 45mm F and 16x8 45mm R
You should be ok with the Volks as long as you dont wish to lower the car very much. Thanks.

thanks for posting. i just drove up to the shop and they look good. i didnt figure i would have a problem...its just that i have been waiting for these for months.

yes they are 16x7 / 16x8s. front offset is 42 and rear is 46. my car is not lowered and i have no plans to lower it any time in the near future. i will let everyone know how it works out. i plan on mounting 225/50 and 245/45 on them.

now i can mount some stickies on my stockers for autoxing.

thanks guys.
