Here's my Eibach drop. I bought it like this, so I can't speak for stock, but I think they dropped like 1.5" or so.

Feeling the bumps is a good thing.

I think you'd have to replace the comptechs to get a smoother ride. But a rough ride means that you have a stiffer suspension. This is good in the high-performance market.

Adjustable shocks...such as Koni Yellows...which allow you to adjust the dampening characteristics would offer some alleviation as to how quickly the shock compresses and returns. In this way, you can smooth the ride somewhat. However, in doing so, you make the handling characteristics more "boaty" instead of stiff. Me personally? I'm on full stiff settings on my Koni Yellows. As indicated above, I enjoy all the feedback I receive from the road. Yes, the ride itself can be a bit harsher, but its all a matter of perspective and what you're really wanting out of the suspension. So if it is too bumpy...consider changing out your shocks to adjustable shocks. Keep in mind that all of this is as I'd mentioned before just a "poor man's coilover setup." But coming in at nearly 1/2 the price of good coilovers, upgrading springs & shocks can be a win-win both for handling...and one's wallet .

I know I'm not wingman, but no your drop will not be that low. He is 1/2 inch lower than you will be on stock shocks. If you want to go that low w/o the Koni's you will need to get KG/MM Race springs.

Konis actually have a separate height setting when you assemble the springs and shocks together and then mount them to the car. I'm on the lower setting. But the additional advantage with the Konis is that ability to adjust your dampening on the shocks. With stock shocks...and KG/MM race springs you have the drop...but you lose some level of control. The stock shocks, with the race springs, would [effectively] be completely compressed. I would expect a much rougher ride with such a setup. And I would imagine a lesser level of control as such almost fully compressed shocks wouldn't offer the desired rebound & pressure to the road that the Konis offer. And without that positive pressure, you chance tire lift on bumps, in corners, etc. Not an ideal when you're trying to keep a ride pressed hard in the turns . Lastly, as I understand from members on the board (and would make sense again since there is such a near-full compression on stock shocks) running race springs on stock shocks will kill the shocks themselves much sooner.
