Default Squeaking gas pedal?

Anyone ever had a squeaky gas pedal? My '01 never did this, but my '04 has been doing it for a couple of weeks now.

It only happens when I very lightly touch the pedal (not even enough to actually open the throttle body). And [as far as I can tell], it is only repeatable when the engine is running.

Any suggestions? If I were to try and "lube" it, what type of lube would I use?

Thanks a lot for any help.

I've never heard of anything like that before but nevertheless, you should be able to lube the pedal linkage and throttle cable with some white lithium grease. It comes in an aerosol can and should be easy to find in your neighborhood auto supply store.

Weird that you only notice it with the engine running. Maybe it's not really a "squeak" and it's a whistle coming from the throttle body butterfly being just ever so slightly open?

Thanks... I have a tube of lithium grease, so I'll just go to town on it. I'll also try playing with the throttle body while the car is running, to see if the squeaking is indeed coming from the valve itsself.

Just an annoying noise, I'm fairly sure its not actually "harmful"
