Default Squeaking seat belt

Hello, everyone.
I've been hearing this squeaking noise from the seat belt every time I get in/out of the car.
I didn't pay much attention at first, but it's starting to get annoying.
Has anyone experienced this?
My car is only a month old, and I know I can always take to the dealer, but I don't feel like letting the mechanic hack into my interior.

I know it's hard to give an answer regarding an issue like this...
so my question would be;
1. Can anyone think of a possible fix?
or
2. Is it easy/simple to swap out the seat belt assembly?

TIA

Dan

search is your friend.

i'm guessing that your belt is rubbing against the leather on the seat. sandwich some felt, cardboard, or rubber between your seat and the plastic seat belt guide by your shoulder. have the material stick out such that it prevents your belt from touching the edge of your seat.

Go to the grocery store and buy a little pack of velcro strips. Apply one strip (the fuzzy side) to your seat where the belt is rubbing. Problem solved. It's black and just about the same width as the seatbelt, so it's essentially invisible too.

Thanks guys for your kind reply, but it's not a rubbing sound or anything.
It's definitely coming from the seat belt assembly itself.
It sounds like some sort of a squealing bearing.

Oh, well... I probably will keep it like that for few more months and then if the noise doesn't go away, then I'll decide what to do.

Thanks for the help, guys.

Its possible the belt is just dirty. Take a damp cloth and wipe down the seat where the belt rubs against it and see what comes off. Then, start wiping the belt and pull the whole thing out as you wipe to get it good and clean.

This will likely fix the squeak issue, but if it doesn't the velcro will work.

I think you guys are not understanding him. I think he is saying that the retractor roller mechanism is squeaking. Mine just started this recently too (MY04 with 31K miles).

Thank you, SheDrivesIt.
That's exactly what I meant.
I don't think there's anything wrong w/ the function, but this noise is killing me.
And did I mention that the car has only 1016 miles?
