SR20 in S2K
To get the same power per PSI, it'll cost a lot more. The reasons why you want to swap it over isn't as useful as other ones like having a stronger gearbox in the car that can take abuse (though those gearboxes are absolute piles of crap in terms of feel compared to the S2000's).
Locking this thread would do nothing. People chant and promote when someone wants to do a 10" widebody and this guy is trying to do nothing different except with an engine. I say if you can do it, go for it. I'll try and help you out on my end if you need help. I'm pretty intrigued

but you'll swap a 10 y/o motor??
). If you talk about the reduced redline, the AP2 already did that, and the 2.5l inline pro kit has an even more reduced redline, at 7500 I believe (correct me if I'm wrong). I think the idea is cool. Let's be frank: it's not going to happen. But if it were available... yeah I'd start looking for buyers for my motor and swap in the SR20.

Why? cause you don't like it?
Or are you worried the heresy will spread? Welcome back the Dark Ages!

Someone have a good body they want to give me? If so I'll donate the engine to the cause.
I had never ever thought of this use for the engine. I bought it to go into a 280Z.
Looking at the engines sitting side by side it doesn't look like any sort of big issue whatsoever.
There'd be the issue of fabbing an AC connection &/or an alternator mount but that is simple stuff. The engine and tranny mounts are straight forward as well.

No, because its a stupid idea and the engine won't work correctly
Also where did anyone get the idea this engine makes less HP than the FC20? We're talking the SR20DET, not the garden variety, iron blocked SR20.
I put down an even 200 hp at the wheels in my 02 S2000. On the same day I watched 3 SR20's in various states of tune put down from 210 -320. The 210 was a car in less than great shape and the 320 had his ecu reflashed, bigger injectors, and a downpipe (the stock downpipe has a 90 degree elbow at the turbo exit).
S13 red top SR20DET - 202hp
S13 Black top - 202hp
S14 SR20DET - 220hp
S15 - 246hp
The S13 and S14 motors had 5 speed gearboxes. The S15 had 6-speed but because of it they made the gears slimmer and weaker.

It's pretty simple to figure out why no one swaps engines. The F is great for n/a. It's great for FI. There is no way you will buy and build a SR for cheaper including labor/hassle, than you can turboing the already more than willing engine sitting conveniently in the bay. People typically swap sr20's, rb25's, ca's, etc. into cars with 140hp with an engine worth 100 bucks.
Only the good lord knows how many times I've said this refering to the "weaknesses" of s2k's and NSX's...
Don't fix what isn't broken.

The reason anyone would consider it is because of COST. You could sell your motor. Turboing will run you 8k. I'm just playing devil's advocate here. We all know it's never going to happen!
