1) The start button isn't a gimmick. Imagine if you were to stall on a track and the car shuts off. You would have to put the car in first, then take your hand and turn the key. This is two hand motions, meanwhile there are cars whizzing by you, not to mention you're trying to get around the track as fast as possible. The start button allows you to put the car back into first and restart the car in one swift motion. It was designed that way for a reason.

2) It's a mirror image, and it's aesthetically pleasing that way. My hands are able to use all controls quite easily while keeping my hand on the wheel.

A) Yes, the mode button is pretty lame. The radio sucks so I never use the thing.
B) Again, the radio sucks. Stop listening to it
C) If the volume were a knob, you wouldn't be able to adjust the volume and still keep your left hand on the wheel.

3) I dunno, I think the interior is perfect, minus the needing of the Mode knob in the first place and the antennae outside (again, radio sucks and there isn't any good music that plays on it )
ding ding ding. We have a winner.

1. start button is on the left side and it's there so you could shift into gear and start the car at the same time. This is another reason why Porsche's have their key slot for ignition on the left side instead of the right.

2. I'm glad they even included a radio control. they could of just not had the cover for the radio and no remote radio control.
by the way, it takes a lot more than $2 to make those pieces, since the manufacturing those will take designers to design them, engineers to make it into something useful, manufacturers to make a mold, adjust the plastic injection machine, and pump out prototypes to see if it works, make changes to the buttons, rewire everything, and paint the thing over.

3. it works great. I rather be driving than mess with the cd play list while i'm driving. That's equal to girls putting makeup on while driving for guys.

i almost wish I had fuel pump started button and fog lamp button where the radio control is. that and launch control button.

Then why are you keeping it at the top of the page? Doesn't it make you feel dirty? I've learned some things: track guys really like the button, there doesn't appear to be an easy mod for keyless ignition, and there's not an easy mod for the dash except an ipod.
I'm glad you've finally learnt something. Congratulations. However, instead of making yourself look like an arrogant and ignorant chap by saying that the start button was lame, you could have instead taken the time to search up the topic or post up a question about it, instead of being an idiot from the getgo. Same goes for the radio controls.

IBTL - what a waste of server space.

I actually hate the start button normally as well, but as someone who does drive the car on track, it's a hugely appreciated feature. It's more than .5 seconds too since in some cars you have to turn the key to the OFF position before being able to restart the car, and in a high speed spin you are somewhat disorientated to begin with, I've turned the key 5-6 times in my integra after a 110mph 4off and spin before remembering to turn it off, then back on to start. I love the start button when I need it, but if I only drove on the street it would annoy me as well.

You'd really hate the lotus ignition, hit the alarm keyfob with key in ignition, turn, then start button.. and that ignition continues turning to a "start" position so it's not even obvious that the last step is different..
