Default The start button

I've always wondered about something....
When you start your car do you have to hold the button while it cranks, or can you just press it in and let it out right away and it will crank and start on its own? Just wondering.

Just try yourself its the only way to know for sure... but it wont work you have to hold it until it starts. It wont hurt anything if you dont hold it long enough

It does hurt to hold it too long, though.

If you hold it more than 3 seconds you're playing with it.

Duh! If you can't start a car successfully using a standard key ignition switch, then the button will have you totally baffeled (shhhh..., it is on the other side of the steering wheel!). They both operate a starter solenoid.

You have to hold it in until the engine turns over, just like you would a key.
