How much damage occurs if you held it for 1-2 secs 1 time?

A guy at the car wash helped me out with that...

You usually grind a little bit of the teeth of the flywheel and starter. Not going to kill the car if it happens once.

My MY07 definately will engage if pressed while engine is already on.

only if the clutch is pressed in.

or if you're like me and the clutch switch is disabled so my remote start will work

if your starter engages when you press the button and you haven't intentionally disabled the clutch switch then there is a problem with your car, as the clutch switch is required on all cars sold in the US by law.

Yes. The Service Manual is copyrighted material. To provide copies of it would be illegal. Don't be a cheap-ass. If you can afford a 30K sports car, you can afford a 60 dollar manual.
So you have NEVER downloaded any music...ever?

I can't believe that even now Honda never fixed this.... I mean, my 01 Golf GTI won't crank if the engine is already running. The fact that the S has such a prominent starter button in a very easily accessible place that can be accidentally bumped.... sigh.
