Starter motor not functioning
I have a 2002 AP1 with no start and no click from any relay or solenoid. Battery 12.4v
I have tested the start button switch which is working o.k.
According to the manual wiring diagram there is a starter cut relay which should be located as the in the centre of 3 on the drivers side fuse panel but my car does not have one fitted as presumably I do not have a clutch switch.
So on a car without the clutch switch is there a relay somewhere else, as I can't believe the starter button switch would take the load directly to operate the starter motor solenoid?
Any ideas?

To my knowledge ALL unmodified S2000s require the clutch to be depressed or the starter motor will not engage. There is a "clutch pedal position switch" on the pedal assembly with a white nylon spacer that turns to granola after years and years. Unless the car thinks the clutch is depressed it won't start. Find any little white plastic parts on the carpet below the pedals?
The system can be modified to fool this sensor and risk stating the car in gear or the spacer can be replaced with some acrobatics under the dashboard.
12.4vDC is about 75% charged so is probably not an issue.
(A couple of pedal position switch sensor spacer posts in the past couple of days. There's one on the brake pedal that influences the cruise control on the US cars. Same piece of plastic.)

What is your location?
clutch switch seems to be a NA only safety device from what I’ve seen.
spade wire attached and getting 12v? 12.4 a little low but still should be hearing something

Mine is a UK spec AP1 and does not have a clutch switch and doesn't require the clutch to be depressed for starting. It also doesn't have a starter cut relay in the middle of the 3 relays on the main fuse board.I have battery voltage coming out on the blue/white wire from the start switch which is fine but I am not getting any feed to the starter solenoid with ign on and starter button pressed, which indicates there is a relay somewhere in the line but not in the workshop manual published position. I have eliminated the starter motor itself by putting a feed direct to the starter solenoid and it cranks normally. Both 7.5amp fuses in the starter circuit are also o.k.. All other electrics work fine.
