how easy is it to steal the S? just wondering... we have a chip on the key which should make it difficult to steal it. but what about going under the dash. are the wires easy to be worked?
I made one copy of my masterkey (to store in my basement for emergencies in case of lock outs) and I never thought the key would start the car, but to my surprise the key without the "chip", started the car just fine. Which makes me wonder if there actually is a "chip" inside the OEM keys..

i always felt like no one really wanted to steal the entire car since the parts dont work with other cars, besides the seats.

It depends on what market that S2000 was manufactured for. Cars in other markets (such as JDM, and probably South Korea, which is indicated by your location) do not have the chip in the key and the ECU does not support it. The immobolizer chip is used mainly in the North America markets.

Hmm, I wonder how good of an idea it is to discuss how to/how easy it is steal a car over the internet on a public board?

Maybe something we should keep to ourselves?
I am fairly confident that all the information needed to steal one of these cars is out there in the open, and known by more than just a handful of folks. (security through obscurity has been shown to fail more times than I care to think about).

I would be more interested in knowing more about how these cars get taken so that I can take appropriate measures to protect my car from those threats.....

Snakes in a car will work just fine. Just don't forget to gather them up when you get in the car.

When I first got my 00 S in 12/99 (only had it a week), we were inspecting a property in a slummy part of LA. We were in someone else's car. I set my briefcase down on the sidewalk (a stupid thing to do) to take a photo and, boof, it was gone. In my briefcase were my business cards and my car keys (another stupid thing). I figured the thief could look at my business card, drive to my office, ransack it (everyone else was out), try my remote on every Honda in the parking lot until until he found my car, and drive off with it. In a panic, we raced back to the office. I left a guy to guard the office while I drove to the Honda dealership to get the lock changed. Then I called my friend, a locksmith, and had the office lock changed. For good measure, I had my house locks changed, too. The dealership took two days to figure out how to change the S lock because the electronics were brand new. Boy, did I learn a lesson.
