Default Steering/Handling Qs

I have some questions and my first thought is to post here for some expert advice.

I own two sports cars: a 2008 Porsche Boxster S and a 2003 Honda S2000. While I'm in love with the S2K, I find myself admiring it more while it's parked, rather than experiencing it while at the wheel. The Porsche, on the other hand, pleases at a standstill as well as while motoring.

Here are just a few reasons why I dislike the S2K.

-Steering is too light (stock)
-Go-cart feel (stock)
-Six gears is still two gears too few. I don't enjoy the high revving. (stock gears)
-Interior is cramped
-Trunk space is too small
-Interior compartment is too noisy

More than simply wanting to vent, I would like to understand how I can modify my S2K to better enjoy it as a daily driver.

How can I make the steering feel more stable and strong?
How can I fix the gears so that that in sixth, I'm not a 4K RPM?
How can I quite the interior?

Thank you in advance to all who respond.

Its just sounds like you have 2 impractical cars. The S is more like a stripped down version of your Porche and your never going to achieve the same feel as it. The only thing you would be able to fix would be the steering response. The cars built to rev high. You can dynamat the crap out of the whole car and get a hardtop, but your adding a ton of weight.

Suggestions: Sell the S or strip it down to a weekend race car.

Trade the S2000 on something that suits you better.

Even if you are able to make the steering feel more stable and strong, the gears so that you're not at 4k prm on the highway, and the interior quieter, you will still have an undesireable "go-kart feel", a cramped interior, and a trunk that is too small.

As a follow up, can anyone recommend a great tuning show (with two-wheel dyno) in Irvine, CA?

Buy something else.

Seriously, the car has a very distinct personality, and you just listed that you don't like the things that are most distinct about it. OK, fine, it's not for you. Life's too short to be stuck with a car you don't like.

-Steering is too light (stock) - fatter tires and a different alignment
-Go-cart feel (stock) - Not sure what you mean? too harsh? not harsh enough? custom springrates maybe
-Six gears is still two gears too few. I don't enjoy the high revving. (stock gears) Ap2
-Interior is cramped - lose some weight
-Trunk space is too small - roof racks or a trailer
-Interior compartment is too noisy - hardtop with earplugs

The dislikes you have about the S2000 are distinctive characteristics that most potential owners are actually looking for. It seems that the car may not be a good match for your needs.

Of course the S2000 is going to pale compared to a 2008 Boxster S - if it doesn't suit you, trade it in for something else. Maybe a C6, 370Z, Cayman, TT, something a little bigger, quieter, more refined, with more low-end grunt.
