Everytime I press on the clutch its really stiff. It's like my leg is getting a work out everytime. Has anyone ever experience this before? Also it feels like my clutch isn't going in all the time and Im only able to press down half way. I have 48,000 miles on my car, but aren't our clutches suppose to last alot longer? I know it depends on how you drive your car but I rarely push it hard.

 

check the clutch oil and the master cyclinder. Might there be a leak

My clutch was always stiff, from the day I bought it - used.

When I worked on other S2Ks and did clutch bleeds, or started the car for oil changes........I would almost always note how EVERYONE elses clutch seemed so light compared to mine, but I only had an OEM setup.

That one lasted until 84k+ miles, but as soon as the replacement OEM setup went in, I got the SAME lighter clutch pedal feel that I experience in the other S2Ks.

What I get from that is that your clutch is going to go out soon, but not too soon. Mine lasted with the "stiff" feeling for quite a while. I only replaced it when it started to slip.

Check your master cylinder for any leaks, and replace/bleed/flush the clutch fluid. It is super easy to do and there is a DIY on it. Piece of cake, and inexpensive to do on your own.

My '01 clutch is stiff too but I think it got stiffer when I had the TSB done for the clutch buzz. I think the fix included stiffer springs and therefore it's harder to push in. I know the clutch in my '05 feels like butter compared to the '01.
