Default Stiffer Motor Mounts

I started noticing an annoying engine rattle when I engage the clutch. It is most certainly related to motor mounts. A few of you describe the same problem, but every post I have seen is just about replacing with new stock mounts. Is this my only option? It is hard for me to believe that there is no aftermarket substitute for this chronic problem. My car only has 25K on it and the refined, liquid filled, original equipment, soft ass mounts are gone. I am looking for some stiff rubber. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanx

An annoying engine rattle when you engage the clutch? That sounds like a bad throwout bearing. Have you looked at your engine mounts? If they were bad you will see the residue from the leaked out fluid. If your motor mounts were bad, you would hear a clunk when you shifted.

Engine mounts are not a common wear item on this car... I think the engines go before most of the mounts do.

Thanks....rattle is probably not the best way to describe what I have, but I am sure it is the mounts. The Spoon ones will do just fine. than you.

You may find that even with solid mounts, you will "rattle". Maybe it's the way you release your clutch. Maybe you are causing the engine to be on the verge of lugging. Removing the flexibility of the engine movement with such driving techniques may simply shorten the life of the whole drivetrain.

it has nothing to do with your mounts. your mounts will outlast your engine. however, you seem to have your mind made up, so you don't need any "help" from us.

replace your mounts til you're blue in the face. it won't fix your rattle.

moving to S2ktalk since this is now a product inquiry.
