Default Stock 2003+ wheels

I was browsing through HandA's S2000 parts list the other day and ran across something I thought interesting. There is a separate part number (and price) for YM 2000-2001 and YM2002+ wheels. Does anyone know what the difference is?

i read that the 2002 + wheels have some bronze in them. i guess you would have to see both wheels side by side to notice them.

I heard the '02+ wheels are lighter in color.

yes, the 02+ wheels have a slight bronze tint to them, very hard to notice unless you see the two side by side.

It is hard to notice, even if they are side by side. I have a set of '01 wheels for autocross, and a set of '02 wheels for street. I never even noticed that they were slightly different colors until I read it on S2KI. I had also gotten a couple mixed up, and had 2 rear '01s mated up with my front '02s.

The difference in color has to do with the clear coat. The '00-'01 wheels had such a problem with chipping, that Honda went to a better clear coat. The new clear coat just has a slight bronze tint.

The 00-01 wheels look better. They are just regular metal color. The bronze looks stupid.
