I received my JR filter today, and upon removing my old filter I noticed that it had a lot of small wet looking spots on it. At first I thought it was water because it was bead-like and on the white plastic filter housing, but after wiping it off I could tell it was clear oil. It's the first paper element I've ever seen with oil in it...weird.

I can't tell much performance difference between the stock filter and the JR. It seems as if there is a little more growl, and the engine seems a bit more willing, but these things are so subjective (my car feels faster when it's really clean too...hehe).

Oh yeah, when Mingster said it was a "drop-in replacement" he wasn't kidding, installation took less than one minute...and it's a perfect fit...cool.

Thanks Mingster

Andrew

My JR filter is cotton (or at least appeared to be) not paper like the stock one. I wonder if Mingster shipped you his old stock filter! j/k...

I meant the stock filter had oil on it, not the JR. The JR filter housing is Blue, the stock one is white.

Oh... That's really odd because my stock filter seemed NOT to be oiled last time I removed it (a few months ago -- to take measurements of it). I haven't put my JR in yet, but I'll probably do that this weekend and report back about my stock filter.

Nope it's not from Jackson Racing...it's from some European company (and is probably available in the UK). Do a search and you'll find plenty of info!!

If you get a new oem filter for the S2K, you will notice it is sealed in a clear plastic bag. The inside of the bag will have oil spots and the cardboard box most likely will have evidence of some oil staining as well.

I would say the oem filters are oiled.

yes, i concur with that observation. it's a light mist/layer of very light oil.

FYI: JR filter GB ends this weekend
