Default stock cd player doesnt play mp3s?

I am a proud new owner of a 05 s2k finally! I have a stock cd player but it does not play mp3s, only audio cds. How come honda didnt make players that read mp3s?

It also has "CD -" and "CD +" so I thought I have a 6 disc cd changer as standard, but I think its only 1 cd.

It can only play regular and burnt CDs. Remember, the S2000 was introduced in 1999 and they basically carried everything over to 2009. They did the same thing with the NSX. They could have upgraded it to play MP3's but they didn't. Bummer...

You bought the wrong car if you wanted a 6 cd player. I believe they did this on purpose, so you can enjoy the real soundtrack... of driving an s2000.

I believe there was a CD changer option that goes in the trunk?

There was an optional trunk-mounted changer you could add in I believe. Not sure what MP3 player you have (if you have one) but I added an USA Spec iPod interface to the OEM headunit and it works pretty well. Retains dash controls for skipping songs. Lots of people also upgrade headunits which is about as much effort and cost as the interface.
