Default Are Stock S2000 suspension Coilovers?

this is a stoopid question but why is it that i keep hearing that s2000's come w/ coilovers as stock suspension?
i thought the definition of coilover would make it adjustable (and i'm sure stock s2ks are not adjustable).
therefore how can they use the term coilovers?
would it be more correct to just say we have shocks/springs stock?

someone please clarify this for me

I never thought that coilover meant that they were adjustable, that's why most aftermarket systems are called adjustable coilovers.

A word means whatever people think it means.

In this case, most people use the word "coilover" to describe a strut with a spring around a damper where both move together AND the spring has adjustable perches. By that definition, the OEM suspension is not a coilover.

The S2000 does come from the factory with coilovers. They are not adjustable, but they are a "coil over shock."

Maybe some people don't know that some cars have the spring completely seperate from the strut (like the rear E46 M3)?

Not all springs surround the strut...those that do are called coil over spring or "coilovers".
