The S02 is the typical OEM tire for the S........but in 02 they introduced the S03 to help with handling in the wet. You may have those tires depending on what region of the U.S you are in.

Unlike some previous replies, the S03 is NOT on the MY04+.........they got a completely different tire on a 17" rim.

And NEVER mismatch tire types/brands from front and rears.......unless you like the feeling of swapping ends (around and around) as this car doesn't like it at all.

The SO3 is not a stock tire, ever. This guy was asking about stock tiers for 02 which are so2s not anything else. He could have any brand of crappy tire on his car right now. His question was what is the stock tire.

The stock S02 tires don't last very long. Considering the car is a 2002, I'm sure they were changed somewhere along the way...probably to something cheaper.

One thing you DON'T want to do with this car is mixmatch different types of tires. Running a MAX performance tire like the SO2 on one side and something of lesser quality on the other will spell trouble...

Please check the tires that are on your car and replace it with the same exact tire.
If I were you, I'd double check your tires before you order the wrong type.

FWIW...MY04 and 05's stock tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE050 tires...not S03's.

I do believe I have s02's on my car. But my question to you guys is, I know this is very expansive tires and you think it is worth buying and match it with my front tires? Like I said before I only need rear tires.
If there is some other tires that are affordable and best for the money I might need to replace all four tires.

No only So2's will surfice unless you get a better tire. I would rather see you with a better tire on the rear than a better tire on the front. The fronts are smaller so they will give sooner and still they stick too much. The rears need to be so2s or better. Nothing cheaper will do unless you plan on driving like a grandma.

Best bet to order them you'll never find them in stock anywhere. Also note that tire rack tends to give the best prices.

NOPE! They are "W" rated.

There is an SO2 series specific for the S2000. All other SO2s are NOT for the S2000.
Go to the TireRack site to see what we are supposed to put on pre-'04 S2000s.

a set of rears will run you about $364, but if you want to get a new set of four, I would suggest Yokohama ES100's they are good tire for a great price, you could get a set of 4 for around $400 from tire rack.

If you want good, cheap replacement tires,go with Fuzion ZR 1;225/50 front, and 245/45/16 rear.
Much better than ES 100 !!!
