I dont know about stock block without a headgasket.

I know that with a headgasket, but otherwise completely stock block and internals, one owner is pushing 26psi and dyno'd 521whp I believe. he could break the tires loose no problem in 4th gear on the freeway.

I searched for most horsepower with the stock headgasket and didn't find much info. hopefully someone else can chime in!

i thought someone on this board was pushing over 700whp and 500+ lb/torque?

i dont know if it is on the stock block but still impressive nonetheless.

No it was a built block. In all honesty a horsepower record on a block is rather worthless. I have little doubt that someone could get a dynorun showing 1000-2000rwhp on a stock block. But the fact is the engine wouldn't last long. Without reliability as a consideration HP record doesn't mean much. Horsepower in itself isn't much of an accomplishment. Horsepower with reliablity is!
