I had my JDM ITR stolen a few years back, and it was insured for liability only since that is all I could get on the car. I was out 15K CAD after. I know the feeling myself and it sucks. It leaves you feeling violated and disgusted.

That aside, you posted a picture with your license plate. Would not recommend that. Secondly, would not recommend getting another S2K at that address. You never know if the thieves are lurking these forums.

Can civilians find the address a license plate is registered to?

Shouldnt be able to, but im sure there are ways to look them up. Not all people with access to the systems that can look it up are 100% honest.

That completely skcus! Sorry for your loss. I still use my steering wheel lock (the club), if it slow them down a bit, good enough for me. Make sure you cover the VIN number on your dash. Maybe I too will look into a GPS device.

I shouldn't have posted the plate on here but figured that no one aside from law enforcement could look it up.

I think that the people who stole it are local and saw the car and where I parked it. I'm going to look for cameras around my apartment tonight. Hopefully I can get some good photos of these guys. I had the car parked in between my M3 and 4runner. I wish they would have bumped into either car so that the alarm would have gone off. I swear I would have come out of my apartment swinging with full force.

These guys probably think that Ill forget about the car soon, but I wont. Ill look for my parts being sold for months and I will find them that way. I know all of the little defects and scratches that my car had and can identify some of my parts in an instant. I will catch these guys.

Be the bigger man. Ignore the insults. Consider the pain of the op that started this thread. He doesn't need this clogging it up.

We should call out someone for even tongue in cheek suggesting death to those caught stealing. But we don't need to inflame with insults. Would be so much better to say something like you understand the emotion, but its in really bad taste, and you hoped for better on this forum.

Its noble to come to someone elses defense. But we should do so in a way that doesn't yet further escalate.

You guys probably have more in common than you realize...

Alright, some of you need to simmer down. Let's keep this conversation civil and be respectful towards each other.

Why am I not surprised to see TsukubaCody running his mouth again?

The last time I checked, this thread was about OP having his car stolen and wanting us to keep an eye out for his prized possession. Those of us following this thread can do one, or all of the followings:
1) Send good thoughts
2) Help OP stay positive
3) Help OP keep an eye out for the car

If you aren't doing any of those things, there's no need for you to comment. And there's definitely no place for anyone to dilute this thread, you aren't helping.

OP, once again, terribly sorry to hear this happened to you, and I wish you the best of luck.

How soon do you guys think that the thieves will wait before listing my parts for sale? I think they may wait a month or so, but I'm not sure.

Also, I'm checking FB marketplace, S2000 FB groups, Craigslist, and OfferUp, are there any other places that I should be looking? Does anyone have experience with catching thieves by catching them selling your parts?

Also, I'm really hoping StateFarm doesn't low ball me. KBB with my mileage in good condition is around $13,000, but there are NO black on full red 2002 AP1's for sale currently. The last black on full red 2002 AP1 sold for $25k on here but it did only have 45,000 miles. My car had 127,000 at the time of theft. The car had a Comptech exhaust and AEM V2 CAI, the claims adjuster said they would take the mods into consideration. I cant find any link for the exhaust. Does anyone recall how much they used to cost? I'm assuming the intake is $300 off eBay.

Also, I left my Valentine V1 radar in the car which is the icing on the cake. But, StateFarm said they'd cover it.

Back on point. I have watched Chicago and Mpls craigslist on an odd chance something would pop up (I watch for various other parts now and then anyways). The only new posts I found were not items from your car and had the car pictured in the ad.
