Let's see, I've been riding and racing motorcycles for 32 years now. Excitement, freedom of movement. There's alot of answers to that question. I think the underlying answer here is being able to do it. Being able to challange yourself and win!

Motorcycles are a whole diffrent enviroment than automobiles. Motorcycles challange the senses and nourish the mind with excitement and accomplishment. Anyone can (DRIVE) a car. Not all can (RIDE) a motorcycle. See the corrolation. Using your entire body in an effort to tame and control is the ability to ride. Driving is tame. Driving is just pointing and going.

Most people can't overcome there fear of motorcycles to try it. Being exclusive, that's why bikers form an immediate bond when riding. "Follow a biker and watch how many times another biker going the other direction acknowledges." You just don't see that happening with automobile drivers. No offense!

It's the same with having something that not everybody else has or can do. Being diffrent but alike in some respects. That is the corrolation between the stook and the motorcycle.

Get both, one will compliment the other. I will tell you this though, you will always yearn to ride the bike more than drive the car. If you get the bike first you'll see just what I mean.

You are only limited by your own mind and thoughts. If you continue to worry about how dangerous it is, you'll never experience it. That's the bottom line!!

Just doing a bit of websurfing before my bike ride this morning. Going to hit one of my favorite routes that includes Bolinas Ridge. Love it!

I bought the S2000 to replace my commuter bike (a rather modest Suzuki VZ800) but I still haven't been able to sell the bike. They are different toys for different experiences.

Indiana doesn't seem like the best place to have a bike or a roadster...

You get a bike and a stook and one is going to be severely neglected most likely the bike.

Don't know if you are near the water but a Yellow S2K and a Yellow Sea-Doo XP makes a real nice combo.

This way you can spend the day jumping waves out on the Sea-Doo then dry off and go for a late-afternoon cruise in the S2000.

JRM, that's on Bolinas Ridge Rd. in Marin County, CA (just north of S.F.).

Here's a few more pics I took on today's ride. Sure don't envy you guys dealing with snow.

p.s. I don't know about others, but *my* bike hasn't exactly been ignored since the stook arrived last month.

Ioki, I wouldn't doubt that in the very least. Simply beautiful. I lived in Riverside for four years and road many a mile through California, Nevada, etc. Is LA Harley still doing the California 1000 and 500 Tour of Tours? Had some great times on these runs. Raced at Riverside and Ontario Motorspeedways but they exsist no more. Thank God the morons haven't got to Laguna Seca or Sears Point. Been there done that too. Not Willow yet!

PS: OoooooH I hate you!!!

I really appreciate all the responses! I expected my post to drop like a weight on this stook board because of the subject matter. And i agree that

I'll say this once again. 32 years riding and racing motorcycles. If you really want the F4i or the FZR6 eather on is a excellent choice. You don't have to turn the throttle wide open everytime you get on it. This is what we call self-control.

Both have a shorter powerband that is in the high rpm range and are rather docile at low rpms. They are lightweight, handle superbly. They aren't extremely expensive and are just alot of fun. If your gonna learn it may as well be on something that you'll be happy with for a while. Instead of spending money on one bike to learn and another when you think you can handle a bigger one.

A note on the accidents. You may or may not have one. That shouldn't be a factor. Dave Dispane said it right on Motorcyclist, "there's is alot of things in my garage that could have the potential of injuring or killing me, ladder, chainsaw, cigarettes, falling out of bed etc., Does this mean that I won't use them when I need to." Hell no! I might be a little more careful when I do. Damn, man you could get up from a great nights sleep, slip on the rug, break your neck and die. Don't be afraid to LIVE. You no what fear does..................it kills the spirit of life. Man, get off the pot and live your dream. Be responsible, and get help, but realize and live your good dreams. I've had many accidents on the track and one on the road in that 32 years. The accident on the road was my fault for being a smart ass. Sure I take chances but mine are calculated and accepted. I been down on motorcycles at speeds that would curl your hair. Quit listening to the worry warts! There just passin on there worries to you! If I didn't think I could have handle it I wouldn't have got back on one. Go for it man and don't look back only to learn.

PS. Check with the American Motorcycle Association. They have a list of acredited schools. They can tell you whats happening close to you also. Heck your college may have a course. Also, check with the local Highway State Patrol!
