In stop and go traffic do you shift to 1st or 2nd?

if the traffic is really bad, I really hate shifting, so I just keep it in first gear until 9k.

It should be noted that *technically* you should never go into first while moving unless rev matching. I usually try keeping the car in first until I'm at a complete stop- it reduces so much strain on the drivetrain. It's just about impossible to shift smoothly from N to 1 without either jerking the car or burning the clutch.
interesting but it is possible for a smooth transition from N to 1 while the car is moving! Not to mention, no clutches or syncros are harmed in the process.

Try this. Roll at 15 or so, go into neutral, let the clutch out, rev match, clutch in, 1st gear, and clutch out. done properly there will be NO RESISTANCE going into first, you will know, it feels so goooooooooooooood.

Next, head into your favorite corner, let's say the entry speed is 45, you are in 4th or whatever doing 80, while braking simultaneously do the following: clutch in, neutral, clutch out, rev match, clutch in, 2nd gear, clutch out, hit apex and go WOT. The pedals on the S make this easy.

I know rev-matching will eliminate stress on the vehicle, but not many people are good at perfectly matching from neutral. Even if they are, it's not something many people will focus on perfecting 500 times during a stop-and-go commute. For me, it's easier to stay in 1st and not deal with it.

double clutching in stop and go traffic?...

even if you achieve the proper RPM.....in traffic you can't get FULLY off the clutch to "catch" the lower gear...
