"can't we just all get along?"

Just as long as those guys who want to own the only S2000 in the world keep waiving at the rest of us, you know the full 5 finger waive, not that one finger, you're number 1 salute.

I voted "NO" but this is only my opinion and I could be wrong.

I heard a rumor from a large CA Honda dealer, that the S2000 might become out of production in 2001 meaning this might be the last year for the S2000.

To the best of my recollection (and backed by some quick research) this is the 10th time this year there has been discussion of the (seemingly dealership instigated) rumour that this is the last year of S2000 production.

The best response to this rumour is as followed (quoted from a prior thread without the author's permission - sorry AusS2000 but it really sums it up):

> Here's the facts:
> 1) NO ONE KNOWS!
> 2) Even if sales people did know (which they don't;
> see above) they would tell you whatever is more
> likely to lead to a sale.
> 3) We should all spend less time pondering this
> question and more time roaring around twisties!
>
> Seriously, if you want to read everything that's
> ever been said about production rumours search
> this site. I warn you though, you won't emerge
> any wiser and will have wasted valuable VTEC time.

The only thing left out of this is that not only will dealers tell you whatever is most likely to lead to a sale, they will tell you whatever is most likely to *increase* the dollar size of the sale.

Stop the madness.

No disrespect, but whats your point here? Anyone can finance just about anything in this day and age. And there are those that have trust funds and don't have to finance...

It is comments like the one above that show that you are a bit younger than most of us.

One thing to consider, you could have probably bought a 92 NSX for not much more than your S2000 costs... Then, you'd have a far more exclusive car (which you seem to value)

There are people that will lease a car just because they like having something "nicer than the neighbors"... they lease something they could probably not afford to finance, and then either turn it back in and lease again, or finance the balloon payment...

I know you arent trying to say you are better than us (you aren't) and I dont think anyone is trying to say they are better than you...

I think a big part of it is that people on this forum like productive threads, and some of the threads you have started (again, no disrespect) havent been productive...

I do like your thread about the Navigation System though...

peace,
