strange situation..my '02 and possible '03
I currently own an '02 S with 84K miles..NFR..and oem except for 18" Axis wheels.
The car looks quite pimp but I've always had a thing for silver S2000's...especially
with the red interiors.
Well...I just saw on craiglist in the Orlando area an '03 Silverstone S with
70K miles..looks to be all oem and according to the ad the car was gently
driven by an older guy...never raced/tracked/street fun n games..nada!
Ok I went to check her out..they then tell me the engine was misfiring and that
a cylinder was ruined...and that this is very commmon with all S2000's from
2000-2003..basically according to this Mazda dealership all AP1's have
idle..overheating..and other issues that will end in engine failure!
what??
I've never heard that!
They did tell me if I was interested that for $4000. they will procure a new S2000
engine and install...with a 1yr. warranty which heck you'de think they were
giving u a 10yr. 100,000 mile warranty the way they pumped out their chests.
I'm kinda going along for the ride cause I cant wait to see just what they will
retail this car for..they were asking $14,200 I beleive and then when they put
another $4K into if thats being honest I cant wait to see the new asking price!
And I have ot wonder just what they consider "new"..didnt know there was nos
Honda S2000 engines out there?

Hey you're a local..
I won't name the place..let's just say
it rhymes with "rory carebanks mazda"
Have to add though..the GM is a good guy and has worked
his way up and been in the biz a long time..and they
have some good salesmen there as well...
not to looking to bash the dealership..just find it
funny them making such negative generalizations about Hondas!
all prone to engine failure cause they wont idle right!!
