Default Street racing in Tokyo?

not sure where to post this...

I don't speak Japanese, but while I'm in Tokyo for a few days, would love to meet up with some owners and see some racing (be it in the street, track, whatever - maybe even watch some drifting).

Any ideas where to go (website, area in the city, etc)?

btw, I have friends here who speak Japanese ok, but are not into the scene.

Thanks

I have two places which may be of interest. First off on Friday and Saturday nights have someone take you, or rent a car, and go to the C1 highway loop at around 12:00am. The racing will start, slowly at this time but will pick up and go until 5:00am. There is a rest area where you can stay at and watch some of the racing but you really need to participate to get the full feel. Ask around and someone will be willing to give a gaijin a ride. Remember the C1 is a tollway so once you get on do not exit off unless you are willing to pay again. My friends and I went twice, one in a Miata and Toyota Crown rentals as well as my friends Silvia Spec R. The silvia was much faster than I would have imagined.

For the drifting event you would want to go to the industrial area just south of Tokyo, almost directly south of Ueno. It takes about 30 minutes by car. Ask in the Japan Forum to get exact directions. Since we had Navi and my friend programmed everything in I forgot the way.
