The 01's are less durable. In fact, I need to replace mine.

 

The best strikers are the hardtop ones. I got these from hardtopguy last fall and they completely took care of all my rattles and creaks.

I made the mistake of giving away my first set of hardtop strikers when I had my hardtop installed, as the dealer ensured me they were already on my '04... turns out this is not the case.

There is quite a difference in how the standard strikers are designed compared to the hardtop ones...

They're the metal dealies that your convertible top latches attach to when you close the roof.

 

So do new hardtops come w/ the new strikers?

 

Mine did, but I'm not certain if the hardtop strikers come with every hardtop kit (since there are a few, depending on model year)... but I can't see why they wouldn't come with every hardtop install kit.
