Default Struggling to resist selling the S

I’ve had my 06 for 7 years now and have enjoyed it quite a bit. I now have my own remodeling business and recently bought a truck. It’s an F150 eco boost. I never thought I’d like a truck so much.
Anyway, I find myself having less time to enjoy the S and when I do it seems more….unnecessary. Often my destinations include either a dirt road at the end or require hauling something to the secondary family vacation home, etc.
When I do get to take the S on a purposeful mountain drive it IS still fun but it’s getting few and far between.
Plus I could use the money to invest and save.
My biggest hesitation in selling is the community and going to Tail of the Dragon and other meet ups. It’s more about the people than the car these days.
I don’t know what I’m asking here, none of my local friends are into these cars, save for one who now has a type R. Anyway thanks for reading and feel free to give me your 2cents on the matter.

Thanks
Jon

Only sell it if you need the money or don't have the space! I've had a S2000 for around 14 years now and there are some periods of time when I don't use it, don't think I want or need it, but I've always held onto it and glad I have! Life always changes, but if you still enjoy driving the car from time to time its worth keeping. I went through a new fun truck phase and last year bought a second sports car and barely drove the S2000. This year I've been driving the S2000 a lot more and so glad I held onto it.

Good points. I can consider the S a $20000 plus value savings account on wheels. Can pull the plug if I ever have to. I know I would miss it badly at times.

How many miles are on the car? What condition is it in? They are only going up in value

You will have a void if you sell it.
Unless you are replacing it with something else that you really want (that will fill that void), I'd keep it.
In 10 years if you still have it, you will be very glad you do. As mentioned above - I've owner a 2 seater convertible for a good portion of my "adult" life and there were periods where I didn't drive it much (for many reasons) but I was aways glad I retained it even through those periods... even if you only drive it once a month, it's still worth it IMO. It's a special toy.

Jon:
I know "Smoke Show Mary" and I would miss having you around. Missed you guys at Marietta this year. Mary and I were just talking about the drunk guy and dinner with you two at Tapoco just a couple days ago.

Hope you don't sell it. Keep it if you can swing it and you can always get your money out of it down the road if needed.

I did.
I sold it to replace it with a 718 Spyder though. The void is filled...

I was in a similar place a few years back - didn't drive it as much and while it wasn't really a financial burden, it's never a bad thing to have fewer expenses and more invested.

While I'd never fault someone for making a responsible financial decision, I'm so glad I kept mine. I still don't put a ton of miles on it, but I'm able to take it out at least once or twice a week for most of the year where I live. Plus my career has progressed enough and I've kept my other expenses low enough that it's even less of a financial burden than before, but I love the driving experience as much as ever.

Like I said, it’s more about the experiences and the great people I meet most of all! Sorry we missed Marietta. We thought we were going and ended up getting roped into work. I really want to try to make the Staunton VA one in August. And if we don’t make the Snowshoe WV there’s no hope for us. Our family vacation house is like 45 minutes from the starting point and that’s a beautiful area.
