Hi all,

I am new to this board. It is great to see a collection of minds that are CRAZY about this car as I am!!!

I have had my S2K since May and I am looking to do some simple mods when I take it out to storage. Currently I am looking at an air filter and strut bar. I was wondering which strut bar do you recommend? Is there differences between manufacturers? Any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

drive long and prosper!!!!

I have the RM strut which made a noticeable difference in handling. Then I put on the Spoon x-brace. I would recommend that you do the x-brace first. It renders the tower strut irrelevant IMHO.

I agree, the spoon X-brace makes a marked improvement. Of course you can't see it. All the strut bars are about the same for performance, that is, only a slight improvement. For looks, I don't think you can top the Comptech, but they will all look good.

NEUSPEED! Carparts.com has it and you can even try to get a coupon for their sight as well. I picked mine up for 87 bucks. Yes, thats not a typo! It fits perfect. no adjustments needed and it does not pivot like most every other STB out there.

Yes its strong and wont move but it can pivot if its off the car meaning to me that if it can pivot off the car it can pivot on the car making it less than optimal. The Neuspeed bar is one solid welded piece. Fit and finish is perfect! Not a huge improvement but some. X brace is comming mid Feb!(just so you know)

Only thing now is that its harder to get to the oil filter. Aside from that no problems with it hitting the hood or interfearance with the air box/hoses/line nutten.

Although the x-brace makes the biggest difference, I think it is most notable when used in combination with the STB.

Here's your only drop-in air filter option:
