No one's in danger? Let's say he hits the pole, knocks it over and and some how drives away. Who pays for the repairs? You know he isn't going to. So the tax payers have to pay for his stupidity.

Now lets say the light pole had fallen across the street and this guy drives away. Now there is no light, a light pole across the road, and a huge puddle in the road. Some family drives by and hits the water because they can't see it, hydroplanes and kills the parents or kids. Possibly even hits the pole across the road.

You're right, no one has been put in danger by his stupid actions.
He's driving an S2000, which is low to the ground & light. What do you think that 500lb concrete barrier is doing around the pole? There is simply not enough leverage down that low on the pole.

You're making a horror movie in your head.

Light? 3,000 pounds is light? Add to it the momentum related to his swinging the back end around. Light, I don't think so. Now, yes, he may not have enough momentum and weight to knock the entire standard over, but not all light poles have concrete standards around them and I am SURE he didn't check the light pole and how it was being supported BEFORE he went for his little joy ride.

That's right, I forgot the S stands for 'Super' and nothing could happen like that. What was I thinking? This guy was just having a little fun and we should be proud of our fellow S owner is showing the world how smart we all are and celebrate in his superior driving skills.

There are horror stories everyday, not just in my head.

Bottom line: He is stupid. PERIOD!! You can have a different opinion, but it is wrong. PERIOD!

100 %

You can't take people doing things that are silly lightly. Some day this guy possible could (yes, another horror story) take his found "skills" and put them in front of you on the road, spin around and you will be in a ead on collision. Learning how to drive the S2000 while safely spinning it around and counter acting over steer is what track days are for, not public streets.

In 300's defence the tag isn't one from the U.S. and If his info on the left is correct he's in America.

Tough crowd. I got a chuckle. Reminded me of the granny doughnuts episode of Top Gear.

I'm not saying I would have done that, I would just stay away from the puddle and use the wet pavement for doing the donuts.

As for the other video, I don't see how that is stupid as well. The cameraman is far enough away to get out of the way in case of a car loosing control, which even if that happened, as it did, they weren't going fast enough for a major accident to happen. The road was obviously dead... that could have been at midnight, 2 a.m., etc. I know that doing that stuff on public roads is a no no and people often get their panties in a wad over it, but for all we know that could be the only place they can go to drift their cars like that, or maybe they just prefer that road. It did look quite fun to go around that circle.
+1

Not everyone understands what drifting is and how much fun it can become if you learn how to control your car. I used to go out drifting all the time in my 350z with a bunch of my friends in the streets and in the track. We would all go out late at night where there are no cars or people to hit. The only thing you can physically damage is your own car, however that's the price you pay for testing an expensive motorsport. Learning how to control your car allows you to open up opportunities including saving yourself in a time of emergency. Also there's no way in hell the camera man was in "danger," worst case scenario the car loses control and unless the camera man is a complete idiot he would move to avoid the oncoming car. Many would fail to understand however the light pole is what makes it interesting. I'm sure many have tried doing circles around a pole before, it's the risk that you may hit the pole that makes it so much more exciting.

I kept waiting for nim to hit the ple to, but no dice.

Id bet almost everyone here has tried a little donut once in a while in the street or parking lot. Everyone does stupid stuff big deal. Some of you are over elabortaing "what might of happened." There are probably more accidents during normal driving than from stupid kids beating on there cars on empty roads.

This is a UK guy on this board. There is a third video of him and an M3 doing the same.

Not a good idea on public roads, not sure his clutch will thank him either. But there you go!
