Well, I've had the sub for a few months, got it just for show, decided to finally install it with a 4 channel amp. 2 channels actually are powering the stock components in the car.... Heres some pics....And one more pic for the fellas
Nothing big really....
the box was bought from someone advertising it on this site a while back, I believe it is an MTX 6000? Maybe an 8000? Basic Kenwood amp, nothing special. Amp was installed inside the tool box, cover removed and foam was cut out to fit the amp. I am getting the cover back, it will be cut out so that it covers all the tools but not the amp. All I need now is the protective cover for the speaker.....
The sub sounds pretty good, nothing obnoxious though... With a more powerfull amp, I believe this sub can handle 500watts RMS, it will be pretty obnoxious. Sound good inside the car, with the windows down, the base hits a lot stronger obviously. If I upgrade the speakers inside the car, I will probably go to a high powered JL amp, but for now, its more than what i want...
At least with all my mods, at higher rpm's I can hear the music real clear now
