Default Such a thing as affordable lightweight wheels?

We all know there are some great wheels out there for our S, but the ones that always get tons of posts are wheels like Volks and Spoons, and those are fairly expensive. Are there any good wheels that weigh less than the stock 16s or 17s (and that have the correct widths and offsets)? I'm more concerned with performance issues than bling.

FYI: although I'd like to hear about 16s & 17s, I'd really like to stay with 16s.

Centerline wheels are forged very lightweight, also cheap. Check out the Monsoon series.

I looked into them as well..but it seems that they only have 7" wide front & rears.

how about picking up some works, or ssr's. they run a little less than the volks and still have great offsets for the s2000. this site usually has some good deals on used rims in the for sale section if you're looking to save money thats the way to go. in the retail market you get what you pay for.

If I was going to replace my oem wheels, one I would consider would be Enkei's RPF-1 wheels. Go to Enkei's JP/English site - the RPF-1 are rotary-spun forged (kind of like the SSR Competitions, I think) and they're priced at about $250-300 each (17"). I think they are at least 2lbs lighter than the oem 16". Others to consider are the other racing series wheels (RP02, NT03, etc) For an example of an s2000 running the RPF-1, the RSR S2000 wears them. As does the Maclaren Formula one cars.

BTW, I don't know about backspacing, offsets, etc.

If you call centerline they can make what ever you need. They made me a custom set of 19" wheels for a Grand Prix GTP.

Rota's are a good inexpensive cast wheel - very durable, and they're only 13 or 14 pounds each in a 16x7" size.

Wow! Those are pretty nice wheels. I'm not so sure the offset will work though. Their biggest offset is 48. Our stock tire sizes fit the 7 inch rim, though. Guess I'll have to do a little more research.

Thanks!
