Unhappy Suggestions for a crashed 2k :(

I'm still in shock, but I crashed my beloved LBP AP2 Car is totaled with two front hits (one into concrete wall and another one by another car after the car bounced).

Would like to get ideas on what can be done with the car.
  • Is it worth repairing? There seem to be ppl who fix crashed 2k. Would appreciate any pointers (I'm in Northern California, SF bay area).
  • Sell? Is there market for crashed 2k?
  • Part out? I have no idea how this is usually done, and I don't have a garage to store all the parts. Is it worth the effort? I assume getting the parts out can take ton of labor? Engine is 100k and healthy (recently compression tested). Most parts are stock (tranny, LSD, wheels, seats etc), except for shorter springs installed by previous owner.
Sorry, I don't really feel like sharing the pics right now; it's super saddening... the blue was gorgeous. Apologies 2k!

In order to part out the car you need to buy it back from the insurance company. Good engines are in high demand. Guys who know this stuff will need to see photos. There's a recent thread about rebuilding a totaled S2000 that may be of interest.

Depending on how bad is the crash, if there's no frame damage, i'd buy it back from the insurance. Fix it and mod it, and track the heck out of it.

I would be pretty darned bummed if that happened to me! I hate to think about it even though I try not to be materially oriented.

When you can, pictures would help and if you feel like it, perhaps tell us what happened so others may avoid a similar fate.

Good luck.

Ugh I am sorry for your loss I agree, pictures would help everyone make a better guess if the car will be salvageable.

If you can tow the thing down to La Mirada, Alan can buy the wrecked car from you outright and part it out for you. https://socals2kparts.com/
