The Sum OF All Fears
Let me begin this epilogue with an overall revelation about the Stook. I have read countless roadtests from professional drivers and amateurs alike, to include reviews given from owners.
This car is built SOLEY for the person who loves and knows how to drive a sports car. The person who does not like this car is the person who cannot preceive what this car is and what it is capable of. To put it bluntly, this car is a wolf in sheeps clothing.
The following represents countless hours of research and reading about this car:
PROS: Engine, transmission, braking, suspension, lights, body design, and gas mileage.
CONS: Speakers, plastic rear window
For the sunday driving, low RPM shifting, storage needing consumer; BUY AN ACCORD. Do not buy this car. This is a pure sports car that is designed for fun, not family trips to Wal-Mart. In the negative reviews that I have read, the common thread from their negativity was based on their narrowed vision as to what they expected when they bought the S2K. This car is a Formula 1 car with a street frame, you dont hear the formula 1 drivers complaining about storage in their race cars. For the money, the S2K is the best deal running, a sports car that is faster than its peers, at half the cost; WHAT A BARGAIN(Nothing to speak of the reliance and low maintainence costs of a Honda).
The Engine; This engine is the pinnacle of perfection, as engine's go. It is a 2-liter, 240 HP engine that is unmatched by ANYTHING out there. When this car was being designed, Honda asked that all honda divisions(except for their lawn mower division) add their little bit of perfection to this bevy of automotive genius. From the high revving engine, to the incredible brakes, to the taught suspension; This car has it all. This is a car that will inspire other car companies to follow and mimic(if they can).
The stereo system; the other big complaint. No one bought this car because of the stereo, they bought it because of the performance. If it bothers the consumer that much, buy new speakers(relatively cheap fix).
The plastic window; yeah not the greatest move, but there are ways around it, a substance at autofanatics.com can be used to to prolong the life and durabillity.
In short this car is NOT for the meek or the weary, this car for someone who searches for that demon between 6 and 9 thousand RPM's. If pushing that envelope is something that you constantly pursue, than you have finally found your soul mate. This is just my opinion, any and all criticisms are welcomed, this is how I feel and what I see.
