My buddy has a Supra and he always wants me to get a Supra like he does. He's always telling me how fast his car is, how he did on the 1/4mile. For me, handling is more than anything. I heard Supra sucks at cornering.

I don't wanna hurt his feeling, but what should I say when he tells me to get a Supra again?

Tell him that until they come out with the 2005 Supra and make it either Turbo or SC'd, then you will stick with your S2000. If he dont like it, drop the top and say "can your Supra do that?"

Supras wont make a good road coarse or Auto-X car. They are better off in the straight line. Toyota made the MR2 for the handeling and the Supra for the straight line.

We've got a '94 Supra twin turbo and a "01 S2000 in the family and they are both great cars. Different but great. The Honda is quick and handles like a slot car. It's a great car to cruise in on a nice day but sucks with the top up. The Supra is almost too fast for the road due to the mods done. Quicker than a Z06 vette. It handles extremely well and is a great car for those days when it's too hot or cold for the roadster. It also has a targa top for the nice days. And in no way is it built for the drag strip. If so it would have a solid axle. The S2000 is a sports car. The Supra is a grand touring car. Very different concepts.

I know this is my first post here but after hanging around a lot of model specific boards I know how people can get kind of defensive about what they drive. Just wanted to give a little input from someone who has spent time in both cars.

Well if your saying you like handling.. S2000 scored .89, supra is .98 on skid pad. Its also faster.. by far.. You can get with targa.. But you'll get a 94 for the same price you'll get an 01 s2k....

I don't think he's interested in a skidpad competition, but rather handling. Skidpad scores just depend upon the width and type of rubber on the car.
