Default Surfboards and S2k's

Yes, this is an odd topic but one that poses a problem for me.

When I had my S, I had another car so this wasn't a concern. BUT, does anyone know if a surfboard (6'4" to be exact) will fit in the passenger seat of an S2k?

Does anyone make some sort of roof rack?

While I have been looking at C5 Corvettes (not an issue since it's a hatchback), I really miss my S and if this problem could be solved, I may end up back in an S.

(and no, this is not a joke)

If you are happy with it sticking out of the top of the car, you should be fine. It is the width that really matters. Will it fit down into the foot well? If yes, you could then mount a strap to the seat bolts to hold it in-place. You would also need something to cover roll hoop to protect both the car and the board.

Or you could get a trunk rack and use it for a "Rice Wing" j/k

Well, I have seen surfers in Miatas before...they would just put their board in nose first and have it sticking out with the top down with the deck side of the board resting against the seat. They usually had towels over the seat and over the nose to keep it planted.
Another option would be to get a hardtop and get some soft racks to put on it.
I am lucky enough to use my beater Tacoma to take my surfboard.

i saw a guy in socal last summer driving top down in an s2k with a surfboard on the passenger side. if you need to put the top up, you probably shouldn't be surfing anyway

I have a 6'2", and it fits just fine on the pax seat; only I put the back end (fins down) first, and I have a board bag. The only problem would be when it rains !

This is so weird. I just had a dream that I was a sufer and was trying to figure out how to get my board in my s2k. It must be a sign.
